Still dancing my way around the UK
Was December the last time I posted here?! Note to self: 'stop neglecting the blog!'
Where do I start? So much has happened since then! I have auditioned for numerous television shows earlier on this year with much positive feedback from producers and directors regarding the following piece. I got word of a show called 'Britain's Got Talent' (fully aware that they wanted audition gaff fodder....) and went ahead and auditioned anyway. I couldn't miss this opportunity for a platform to show a wider audience an alternative view of pole dancing. As a performer I feel it is my duty to attend these auditions and I feel compelled to represent pole dancers in this positive way. I find this kind of opportunity very rewarding as much of the performance work that I do is in this context. Here is the piece:
In this last 12 months pole dancing has moved on greatly with many pole dancers and instructors networking all over the country. This is a great step forward as most contact previously in the pole dance world was via the internet. Although the internet is great for initial contact; I see it as a means to an end as there is no substitute for face to face contact and the sharing of information. Pole dancing has a steady stream of media coverage from both positive and negative angles with much more exposure to come due to the hard work of each pole dancer out there with a common goal creating a positive cumulative effect.
