A most enjoyable evening!

I had so much fun at The Gay Cabaret on Friday evening. The technicians were extremely efficient as usual. The other acts were fantastic, the compere was brilliant and I was most pleased with my performance. Great crowd too!! Here are a couple of shots that were taken during my piece. Here and here. My sis really enjoyed the evening aswell, especially my act!

The studio is looking like this at present. Here's a different view.

Cabaret Performance!!

I have been neglecting my blog of late. Sorry, this will be a short one as I have very busy with classes, running and updating the website (there are a few more updates I must attend to next week actually). Being involved with the organisation of the Miss Pole Dance UK competition is also great; I can't wait to meet loads more like minded pole dancers! The finals are in August (held in Newquay) this year and I am really looking forward to it.

So I am performing my Bond themed routine at The Gay Cabaret this evening. I first performed this piece last year and have performed it a number of times since. I am so excited to be asked to do it again though as it is my favourite piece! I love the 'Y', such a nice theatre. There are lots of other great acts on so I hope I can watch most of them before I have to go and warm up. Hope I get a chance to speak to some of the other performers too, especially the performer on corde lisse (rope). I heard he has to dash at the end of his set to catch a train , so we'll see......

Oh my gosh, nearly forgot!! My younger sister is watching me perform pole dancing on stage for the first time tonight!

Get in is at 4pm, so I'm going to relax, maybe do some vacuuming before my sis arrives. Great news! My Dyson is not broken after all; it just shut off due to being too hot! Phew!

The Studio is Open!! Good News, Bad News.

Okay, the studio is ready for teaching! After a very hot weekend and working very, very hard, we're fully functional!

The bad news is I broke my dyson. So I have to get another one!!!

The good news is Level 2 and Level 3 starts tomorrow! There's a taster scheduled for this Wednesday and Level 1 starts again next week with some more great students, hooray! Everyone's really getting good!

I haven't taken any photos of the finished studio yet. Soon, soon!

Still making progress on the studio

So I was feeling a little *?@#!?? earlier today as there was still so much junk in the studio. I feel like things are taking so long; but in reality progress is good. I had some help today which made things a little easier and we moved everything that wasn't too heavy.

Once the space was a bit clearer, I was able to finish some of the essential jobs, like vacuming for example. ;)

All that remains to be moved are these big runners and a cross trainer (oh, and some weights too). The runners must weigh 100kilos each!!

Yes, I know there is a big hole in the wall! That doorway will be finished very shortly. Here's a better look. These steps are one of the great vantage points of the studio suitable for filming or photography. They also lead out to a patio area which I really like when I want a breath of fresh air. One step at a time here....

So the area that the runners are going to be transported through can't be decorated yet. It is pointless at the moment as the equipment is so heavy that my work would be ruined when they are moved out. I have left the walls and floor area [see here] where I think it may get damaged.

Okay, so later I put a pole up and gave it a try (all is well). I have decided that there will be 4 poles in the studio for now...

Here's how we left the place this afternoon. Remember those first shots from weeks ago?

I am back in the studio tomorrow to work on it some more as the first taster session is next Saturday.

I finally got the stuck pole apart. After trying everything, nothing changes the laws of Physics (duh!), so now it has 2 extra holes in it.

Oh, I nearly forgot to say! I was featured on the BBC website this week!
